Character Print Green Endeavours

In 2005, Character Print achieved Level 1 certification in the Green Stamp program. Where possible, we do all that we can to protect the environment. This includes the use of vegetable/soy-based inks and the recycling of resources such as paper, silver recovery and wooden pallets.

We also support Carbon Neutrals tree planting program and donate a tree planting with every order received.

Choose print.
The paper industry plants more than it harvests and today there are 25% more trees in the developed world than in 1900. Paper is biodegradable, renewable and sustainable. Growing and harvesting trees provides jobs while forestry plantations provide clean air, clean water, wildlife habitat and carbon storage. A decline in the demand for paper products risks a decline in sustainably managed re-growth forests.

Use print.
It is tangible, it is effective in getting your message across and when recycled it will come back to us as paper or board.

To sustain a workable environment friendly program Character Print relies on a policy of open communication with and the support of our suppliers, clients and staff.

The company is committed to continue to explore more efficient processes and improve reductions in environmental pollution and as part of this will:
  • Actively promote the recycling and reuse or production materials.
  • Continue to cull hazardous and toxic chemicals from the production stream as viable substitutes arise and to keep eliminating other harmful materials altogether.
  • Educate staff to assist them work in a safe efficient manner.
  • Maintain their recycling systems for many production materials including the cleaning of rags used with chemicals in the wash up process, clean paper waste and ink containers to recycling.
  • Continue to utilize energy efficient lighting systems and to minimize water usage.
  • Maintain scheduling programs that minimize machine cleanups and reduce chemical use.
  • Participate in appropriate government or industry led initiatives that promote the protection of the environment.
  • Encourage the use of standard and generic forms to minimize alterations and the wastes they produce.
  • Maintain open communications with suppliers, clients, staff and subcontractors to further awareness of environmental issues.
